This review is specifically about management's handling of the pool amenity and communication with residents. As of mid-June, the pool remains closed despite summer already being underway. Residents were informed that the delay was related to permitting issues. While delays can happen, it is disappointing that an amenity heavily advertised as part of the community experience remains unavailable during Chicago's very limited warm-weather season. What has been most frustrating is the lack of communication. We have emailed management multiple times and visited the leasing office in person seeking updates and discussing possible concessions given the loss of an amenity included in the cost of living here. To date, we have not received a meaningful response, timeline, or resolution. We were also told that other apartment communities were experiencing similar issues. However, based on our personal experience and conversations with friends living in several nearby buildings, those communities have already opened their pools for the season. We understand that unexpected challenges arise. What residents deserve in return is transparency, timely communication, and responsiveness. At this point, residents still do not know when the pool will open, and that uncertainty is difficult to justify given the premium rent charged at this property. We hope management addresses these concerns, provides a clear reopening timeline, and communicates more effectively with residents moving forward.

Moving into the Alta Roosevelt has been a perfect Chicago experience for us. In an amazing and beautiful building you get all the amenities you could need. There is a convenient cafe downstairs and it’s a very short walk to the downtown area and the lake. The layout of the apartments and the appliances are all updated and good quality. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful whenever you need it. We always feel safe and secure with 24 hour door staff. Our leasing agent Danielle has been there to help us with any concerns and issue we’ve had and responds promptly. I’d recommend any new tenants coming in to try and book with her because of her professionalism and drive to help the residents here. You will definitely love life here at the Alta Roosevelt!!

A very well staffed building, It's not just great looking, it's properly managed. That makes all of the difference. The staff is happy to help. I had a wonderful tour with the community manager Rachael she was so welcoming and knew everything and is clearly proud of her operation. She's very attentive and asks great questions and has answers! A building is nothing more than the people who occupy it and this is a great one for rentals

We have been living in Alta Roosevelt for 2 years and we really enjoyed the experience. We are moving to the suburbs now for a bigger place, but we certainly will miss Alta Why we picked (and renewed lease) in Alta Location. It's located 10 minute walk from Michigan Avenue and Grant Park, and 2-minute drive from the Highway intersection to West, South, and North. So while we lived downtown, we didn't actually have to drive through downtown traffic. Jewel Osco is 15 minutes walk, while Costco is 10 minutes drive, lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance. I honestly think South Loop is the best neighborhood in Chicago Downtown for people without kids from price vs safety-comfort-close-to-everything perspective. Amenities. The building was built in 2018, everything is pretty new. My favorites are Pool and Grill - during summer I hanged out there almost every day. Other amenities are great as well. Apartment. Our apartment has very high-quality furniture (kitchen and bathroom). We viewed about 10 places when originally deciding the place to rent, and many of them, though also considered a luxury, had cheaply made furniture. I know it would drive me mad very fast. The view. I recommend East Facing on 10+ floors (if available). It's not only the beautiful view itself - I personally like to keep blinds open during the day, and our place didn't have any windows directly in front of us (in front of us is a road and 10-stores building after it, so if you live over 10th floor, you will be pretty far from any neighbor window). Most of all - management and staff!!! I loved how nice, organized, and professional everyone was, from the doorman to the maintenance and leasing office. I had to place a maintenance request twice (on the first day because the refrigerator didn't give ice cubes and the second maintenance request was when the NEST app stopped working for me). The technician came and fixed everything within 2 hours both times. The community is very nice and quiet, we didn't have any noise issues with neighbors. I know that if we ever decide to move into the managed building Downtown, we certainly would pick either Alta or another building managed by Wood Residential management company. They provided the standard of quality we loved.

The staff honestly made the experience worth it! I was able to come in for a tour and immediately knew that I wanted to live there. They answered all my questions and very accommodating to schedules and concerns. Would at least recommend everyone to tour to see how great they are!
