I've been living at Century Tower for over two years now and it has been the best experience! Everyone that works in the building is so friendly, the community is very well kept/maintained, and resident events are fun and engaging. The location is also super convenient (especially for getting to and from the airport) since most train lines are so close by. Overall, Century Tower is one of the best buildings in the city to live in and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new place!

My wife and I have been visiting a friend who lives here for the past few days, and the front desk clerk Will has seen us coming and going with our friend multiple times. Today upon my wife and I returning from a walk, we simply asked a question about the rooftop, and instead of helping us, he was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. What made the situation even worse was that he repeatedly misgendered me despite speaking directly to both my wife and me. It felt disrespectful and uncomfortable for no reason at all. We were polite and just asking a basic question, so the attitude and treatment were completely uncalled for. Guests and visitors should be treated with basic respect, and this experience left a really bad impression.

I’ve really enjoyed living in this building overall and would highly recommend it for anyone considering downtown Chicago living. The location is incredibly convenient—about a 5-minute walk to my office and right next to the Blue Line, with Clark & Lake just a few minutes away. Getting around the city without a car has been very easy. The amenities are a major highlight. The 2nd floor has a well-designed gym that, while not huge, is the perfect size and includes Peloton bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and a dedicated Pilates/stretching room. On the same floor, there’s also a large shared lounge space with booths, a pool table, printer, a big screen, and comfortable seating. It’s a great place to work remotely, host friends, or just relax in a really nice vintage-modern styled environment. The rooftop on the 23rd floor is another great feature, with grills, a fire pit, seating, and a TV. In the summer, people often hang out there, tan, or host small get-togethers, which really adds to the community feel. The building also has basement storage for bikes and scooters, vending machines, and a very welcoming front desk team. The staff here is incredibly kind, responsive, and consistently helpful, which really makes a difference in day-to-day living. They also do small thoughtful things like offering free bagels every other Tuesday morning. There’s also a strong sense of community overall, with many young professionals from Chicago and abroad. The building hosts regular events on the 2nd floor, which makes it easy to meet people if you’re new or just looking to connect. There are some trade-offs to be aware of. Being downtown means it’s more active and busy compared to quieter residential neighborhoods further north. Around Clark & Lake and nearby streets, you may occasionally see unhoused individuals or people experiencing mental health challenges, especially at night, but it hasn’t been something that directly impacts daily living. The AC also isn’t typically turned on until June, so April and May can get quite warm, and we rely on fans and open windows during that time. Grocery options nearby also close fairly early, so we often go to River North, about a 20-minute walk away. Additionally, elevators occasionally go down, so stairs may be necessary at times. Overall, this is a great place to live if you’re looking for convenience, strong amenities, great transit access, and a social environment in the heart of the city. It’s very much downtown living—fast-paced, connected, and lively—with the expected trade-offs that come with it.

Very cool building, it's a very nice place to live here. I really like the renovation, lovely and very friendly staff. I am delighted with the gym and lobby, they constantly hold parties to introduce neighbors to food and margaritas👏 And it’s nice to know that Batman Beginnings was filmed in this house and it was once the tallest building in the world. Highly recommend.

I've lived here for just over a year, and overall it's been a very positive experience. The people who work here are SO nice!! The maintenance staff is especially incredible. They always say "good morning" and "have a great day" to me when they see me in the halls/elevator/lobby. Any time I've submitted a work order, they've fixed the issue within 24 hours, and I always trust them to be in my apartment without me being there. The people who work at the front desk are also very friendly and helpful (especially Will and Ashley). The leasing office is sometimes disorganized, and they can be slow to respond to emails. Before I moved in, they forgot to send me all of the information about paying rent and reserving freight elevators, so move-in was chaotic. Listing some pros/cons about living here: Pros: -Apartments are very modern and nice on the inside. Lobby, halls, and amenity spaces are always very clean. -Amenity spaces are BEAUTIFUL. We have a huge lounge with free Wifi- great for working from home. The gym is really big and fancy (with Peleton bikes and a yoga studio). There is a nice rooftop that's good to use during summer. No pool. -The building is right next to all of the CTA lines, so it's really quick/easy to get to most neighborhoods in Chicago. Also a block away from the riverwalk. -Package delivery system is great and very efficient. I never worry about my packages being stolen. Food delivery is also great, they drop things off right at my apartment door. Cons (about building itself): -They have these big and gorgeous amenity spaces, but they don't let you rent them out if you want to have an event. Not sure why they have this rule, as no one lives on the floor that has the lounge. -Every few months, one of the elevators will break, so you can end up waiting 3-4 minutes for an elevator. It can sometimes take them a few weeks to fix it, which gets annoying. I think this is pretty standard when living in a high-rise, though. -The building operates on a two-pipe AC/Heating system, so it can get uncomfortably hot in the apartment for a few days/weeks in fall/spring months when the building has the heat turned on. Opening the windows helps with the discomfort, but it's SO loud outside so you can't really work/sleep with the windows open. The building can't do anything to change this system, so just something to consider. -The building is right next to the train tracks, so it is definitely loud. They have pretty thick windows, but they don't block out the sound entirely. I sleep with a sound machine though, and it hasn't been a problem for me. -Not a lot of natural light in the apartments because you're surrounded by tall buildings. Walking outside is not great because you're directly under the train tracks. It's SO obnoxiously loud and dark. Cons about location (not about building itself): -If I'm honest, the loop is a pretty odd place to live. It's the center for office buildings, so you don't get a residential/neighborhoody vibe here. All of the stores/restaurants in the area close at 5 PM on weekdays and are closed on the weekends. -There are ZERO grocery stores in the loop. Takes me at least 20 minutes to walk to the nearest grocery store. This is so bad during the winter. -Being right next to the train, there are definitely a handful of ~sketchy~ people around the building at most times. I don't feel particularly safe when I'm walking outside, and I've had some weird/unpleasant interactions with people in the area. However, the building itself is very secure (24 hour front desk staff, key codes to get past every door). -If you're new to Chicago and looking to meet young people or be in a busy part of town, this is not the best neighborhood for you. The only reason I live in the loop is because I needed to be close to the pink line but still wanted to be close to the Old Town/Gold Coast area. If you don't absolutely need to prioritize convenience, I would recommend living anywhere else.
