I don’t live in this building, but I’m here every day visiting my clients. In the first half of the day on weekdays, around 11–12, when I arrive, I’m always greeted by a kind and friendly front desk staff member. It’s genuinely a pleasure to see him - he’s warm, welcoming, and always ready to help! Unfortunately, in the second half of the day, different staff members are on duty, and they come across as unfriendly. They don’t smile back, aren’t particularly polite, and I often feel uncomfortable if I need to ask them for anything. Maybe they interact differently with residents, I’m not sure... Another downside that I think is important for dog owners and sitters is the dog run. Because of my work, I visit many buildings with dog runs, and this one really lacks proper cleanliness and maintenance. There is often a strong smell of urine, and from time to time I find cigarette butts. Not only are people smoking in an area meant for animals, but they’re also throwing the butts onto the grass, which can be dangerous for dogs! Even though I’m not a resident but a regular visitor, I hope the management will take this feedback into consideration. Thank you!

These apartments could be beautiful but there are several problems with the building. First, the hot water situation is horrible. Some days it was freezing cold and other days lukewarm. Trash shoot jammed frequently, causing a huge backup of garbage. At one point we had to leave garbage outside our doors, which was disgusting. The elevators are frequently out of order, at one point it was down to one elevator for the entire building. Finally, they raise the rent a lot after your first year. Mine jumped thousands of dollars. I felt like it was bait and switch. Office staff is definitely not responsive, don’t get back to you in a timely manner and don’t really care about you as an individual. There is one woman who does the cleaning for the building and she is incredibly hard working and kind. Most of the maintenance people are kind and helpful but I think they are short staffed because it can take a while to get them into apartments. It’s unfortunate because they are beautiful apartments, love the windows and closet space. The location. Is decent but is very quiet on weekends because it’s a business area. Overall, I would not rent here again. It started out promising but sadly I would not recommend.

This is a fantastic apartment to rent out. They have a great gym, community hall, pool etc. The complex is also in a perfect spot, easily walkable to blue, pink, and brown line trains. There are many restaurants as well nearby.

Abigail and April are simply the best managers! The whole team works diligently to provide their residents with the best experience and opportunities to live comfortably and enjoy what the city has to offer. 215 West is one of the best downtown Chicago apartments! Great location, attentive staff and a welcoming, secure environment for residents.

I've lived at 215 W for the last 4 years and just renewed my lease. I love living here for so many reasons. The location is just perfect, right in the heart of everything but also a couple blocks away from the crowds. Everything is walkable. If I want a quiet walk in the evenings, I just walk towards west loop but if it's restaurants, shopping and activities that I'm in the mood for, I walk over to State Street, Millenium park and the Magnificent Mile. The building itself and all the amenities are very well maintained. They recently renovated the amenities floor and have a spanking new coffee machine (good free coffee!). I also love the thoughtful events and mixers that the amazing office staff puts together from time to time. I've seen several luxury buildings and condos in the downtown Chicago area and have heard horror stories about the management.. but can't think of 1 thing to complain about at 215 W, especially if you're in a higher unit with all that sunshine and glorious view of downtown!
