Google Reviews
R Romero 3 weeks agoI placed reviews in the past in my previous google account, under Romero R, if you're interested to learn my earlier living experiences in Vista Brooklyn. My contract is almost up and I'm excited to continue living here. It's one of the best in Jacksonville so far. The location is superb, centralized between Riverside and Downtown. I hardly have the need to ride any further when there's a wonderful cafe/bar downstairs, grocery store next door (Fresh Market and soon to be opening Whole Foods), barbershops & hair salons everywhere, bank, plenty of short distance restaurants, and a block away from the river. It's very pet friendly with a newly renovated dog park on the 8th floor. I don't have dogs, but I go there sometimes because of the sunset view. The spectacular east and south panoramic view from the clubhouse rooftop are therapeutic after a long day of work or just to relax on the weekend regardless of the season. You get to see the downtown and San Marco architecture and St John's river with a different look between night and day. The staff is easy to work with and always proactive. They're always spot on fulfilling my requests including maintenance. It gets a bit crazy on the weekends when some residents don't clean up after themselves when using the clubhouse facilities but come Monday the VB crew gets them cleaned and spotless like nothing happened. The neighbors are friendly and are very respectful of your space. The rent is not bad compared to other luxury apartments. I would say it's in the average range. I can't comment on parking. I'm paraplegic and unable to drive. The building has a secured parking garage for residents. The main door, elevators and package room are key activated for extra security, so no unexpected visitors can just knock on your door which I very much like. Peace and quiet are my only roommates. LOL. Overall, living in Vista Brooklyn can be a daily vacation experience with the amenities available in the building as well as the short distance surroundings. More exciting developments are happening in downtown and on Riverside. For me, consider living here is not a hard decision to make. You want your cortisol level down? Live here, no kidding.
Alexa Cavenas 6 months agoI moved in in August and the staff has been nothing short of amazing! Trey remembered me from an inquiry back in February and he has made my experience here so far seamless and wonderful! He is thoughtful, really cares about the residents and gets things done! The facility itself is also beautiful, I'd recommend the top two floors (or the first) as they have the stunning high ceilings. The dog park on the 8th floor is convenient and perfect for your furry friends. I have met a bunch of amazing neighbors so far, and I am so happy to live here!
Andrea S. Coca-Mir D'Orville 5 months agoOur experience living here has been great since we moved in a couple of months ago. The amenities are really good and always well kept, and the location is honestly perfect and super convenient. Mariah is amazing—she’s super friendly, always helpful, and genuinely cares about the residents. Anytime you need something, she’s there. We’re really happy living here and would definitely recommend this place!
Marlana N. 3 months agoUNKEMPT and POORLY MANAGED What started off as a seemingly promising property with a welcoming and competent staff soon proved to be a housing nightmare riddled with foul odors and pet feces. I was initially very excited to be moving to Vista Brooklyn: I loved the area, the high rise building style, and was very fond of my floor plan. The staff also appeared to be very friendly and Trey particularly seemed extremely accommodating, as I was only able to communicate and view the property remotely. However, once my lease was signed that all changed. On move-in day, Trey gave me a welcome folder (absent of my parking pass) and a faulty key fob (that left me unable to operate the elevators). What I initially wrote off as an oversight on his part was my first inclination of his incompetence. Once I finally gained entry to my apartment, I was greeted with evil odors—that I would soon discover were emitting from the mildew filled washing machine and the dryer that stunk of gym shoes. As if the odors were not enough, the cabinet hinges and hardware in the apartment were rusted/ tarnished and the drywall was torn in multiple places. I immediately brought up my concerns to Trey and maintenance request were put in. Though the maintenance team did replace the rusty toilet tissue holder and attempt to clean the washing machine on two separate occasions, the foul odors persisted and everything else went unaddressed. When I brought up the issues to Trey he initially expressed that he would be able to have the appliances replaced— that never happened. Throughout my tenancy there were a plethora of other issues; the most concerning being the constant pet feces and urine littered halls. Not to mention, the perpetually defunct parking garage gates— that were either creating safety concerns because only one was operative or they just shutdown and you’re unable to come and go. Not to mention, the same month I reported to management that another resident was putting used condoms and cigarettes in my valet trashcan, the monthly rate for valet trash increased 50% without prior notice. The building has no routine maintenance or upkeep— that coupled with the carpet everywhere leads to the most abhorrent odors permeating throughout. Towards the end of my lease at Vista Brooklyn, the property became so untenable that I decided to move nearly two months early. Once I turned in my key fob and parking pass, I assumed my nightmare with this property would end. However, I received an erroneous notice in January that I owed them in excess of $1600 and found out that they failed to terminate the utilities (specifically the water) in my name. I called the office numerous times about these erroneous balances and left multiple messages. Once I finally received a follow-up from Trey, he was extremely argumentative and pejorative. He consistently spoke over me before allowing me to explain the billing notices I received in error. Then actually guffawing once I was able to express my concerns regarding all the erroneous balances. Not only did he fail to take any accountability for these issues, he continuously made personal attacks towards me during the call. As of present, I am still dealing with the billing errors. I urge anyone to take heed of my experience and save themselves the trouble of living in this unkempt and poorly managed property. * 3 month post move out update: I have yet to receive my deposit or an update on the erroneous charges placed on my account. I have contacted the office and the leasing manager, Trevon Roberts, numerous times. I have reached out via email as well as phone. The poor management persists! Attached are just a FEW photos that illustrate the condition of my unit at move-in:
Kentranique Manning 4 months agoIf I could give 10 stars I would! From the beginning, Trey, the assistant community manager, has been nothing but kind and helpful. His welcoming and caring personality shines through his assistance, and his energy was just so positive and inviting. In the lobby, I watched a dog with their owner wait patiently for him to finish talking to my husband just to be greeted by him! He gave us the most thorough and insightful tour of the entire building, and answered all of our questions. The building itself is so beautiful and peaceful, and my husband and I are thoroughly enjoying our stay. The maintenance crew are very helpful and prompt as well, and Mariah from the front desk was also exceptionally helpful and kind. The area is absolutely amazing with so many great places within walking distance, and the view phenomenal, especially from the gorgeous 10th floor lounge! Our sweet dog is also so happy here, with it being a very pet friendly environment! It's only been a few days but we know we are going to completely enjoy ourselves here. This new season in our lives has been made so much more special because of our new home! I definitely recommend the Vista Brooklyn to anyone looking for a luxurious new apartment with an amazing team and beautiful amenities!
