A month in, very good experience so far! The location can't be beaten, very close to everything (pharmacy, groceries, hardware store, restaurants, bars, etc!). Extremely walkeable, and close to transportation. The garage parking is good. It's expensive but very convenient. Good amenities, the gym is ok, a bit small, but mostly empty most of the time. The current management company is very good so far. We had a couple maintenance requests and they fixed them the same day. Never had that happen before in an apartment. The leasing and management staff is very nice and helpful. The only downside really is the cost, it's pricey. The units also don't have AC, which is not great for this price point.

I've been living at Alchemy for over 2 years now, and it continues to be a great experience! The location is central, and there are a lot of amenities that I really do use and makes it so I don't have to go elsewhere for day-to-day activities (I personally enjoy the shared working/lounge/entertainment spaces, gym, yoga studio, secure package room, etc). The management team is supportive and responsive, and I've never had trouble with getting help for things that I need. Recently, I've also needed some maintenance help in my apartment, and the team is friendly and helpful (thank you, Oscar!). Overall, it's been a great place to live. Thank you!

We’ve been renting at Alchemy for a while now and really enjoy living here. The property is huge and well taken care of — it feels more like a small neighborhood than just an apartment complex. There’s plenty of open space, nice shared areas you can actually use, and it always feels safe with good lighting and security around. The gym is great — clean, modern, and well-equipped — and they even offer yoga classes and a trainer sometimes. There’s also a community garden with lots of plants and space to grow your own if you’ve got a green thumb, which is such a cool touch. For dog owners, there’s both a gated dog park and an open-to-all dogs area, both of which are well maintained. Our apartment itself is spacious for San Francisco, which we really appreciate. The only real downside is there’s no A/C, but that’s easy to overlook considering everything else. The management team has been great too — supportive, quick to respond, and always providing clear directions when anything comes up. They’ve also started hosting community events recently, which have been a nice way to meet neighbors and feel more connected — we’re looking forward to more of those. Overall, the location is unbeatable, the amenities are great, and the community vibe here makes it a really comfortable place to live.

Lived here for 5+ years. Loved it until Greystar took over in 2025. In their tenure as building managers they have: - Given existing residents outrageous renewal offers, up to 15% raises - Started loud, burdensome, unnecessary construction projects. Gym closed for months. No concessions were offered, even for those who work from home and could not do so because of the noise. If you move here in the next year I would expect construction noise and debris. - Fired long tenured staff including our cleaning crew and beloved trainers - Frankly do not seem to care about residents. If you ever have issues, expect it to be met with a lack of compassion that Greystar is known for. I am frankly stunned by their greed. The location is great and Steve, the maintenance manager, is wonderful, but that is where my kind words end.

I lived at Alchemy for 2 years and the new management (Greystar) is wildly incompetent. The elevators have broken multiple times and they take forever to fix it. They took >6 months to fix a machine in the gym. The garage door has been broken for months now. The callbox for our building also broke for a while. They also let the bill on the wifi in the common areas lapse; if you try to connect to it there’s a big AT&T message saying they need to pay the bill. Also, they will double charge you for things on your security deposit and refuse to justify it. If you ask them about any of these issues, they get defensive and don’t help They’re also really bad with communication. For example, a few weeks ago the water in our building just fully stopped working and I had to call them a few hours in to ask for the status and they didn’t even seem to know anything about what was going on. They also don’t respond to any of my emails, except the one I sent them to give them notice of my move out (they responded very quickly to that one lol). When you do get ahold of them, they’re very rude and impatient. A couple weeks ago I called them to ask about the garage charging, and they got really heated over a pretty simple question There’s also longstanding problems beyond the new management. There are ants here, constantly. It’s also super expensive for what you get. Theres also electrical problems: in my kitchen if I use a specific outlet for something relatively low power my lights start flickering. The water goes out at least twice a year and does that gross thing where the water is brown and you have to run it for like 10 minutes before it clears up. Cars have gotten broken into in the garage multiple times, even though parking is $450/mo. And the HVAC noise is awful - if you still decide to live here, please do not live on the top floor for your sanity. The issue with HVAC noise is described in a lot more detail in other reviews which you can read, and it’s a good representation of Alchemy as a whole: the aesthetic of luxury apartments, built cheaply and managed poorly. The only thing good about this place is the maintenance. Steve is awesome, and maintenance issues inside your apartment get fixed super quickly here. Overall, you don’t want to live here. If you can afford to live here, I promise you can find somewhere way better.
