WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Called and spoke with a wonderful agent named Kaylin. She was very helpful and provided me with options as well as steps to procure a lease (Kaylin gets 4/5 stars). While waiting for her call back, I took the initiative to reach out. Her boss Stephanie answered the phone. Stephanie has zero manners of any kind, she has no ability to present a warm and welcome environment over the phone. She interrupted me, she shut down everything her agent told me, and then SHE LAUGHED IN MY FACE when I asked about a reduced rate. I was considering renting here but now I need to make sure Stephanie is not in charge before that consideration. I cannot imagine what living at her property must be like and I feel sorry for everyone who has to deal with that on a daily basis, especially Kaylin. Stephanie sounds like someone who laughs at poor people (because she did) for being poor. She should not be in any field centered around hospitality, and I could do her job with my leg chopped off.

I've lived at Avana for A little over a year now. The staff year is the only reason I'm writing this review. I've looked at my fair share of apartment buildings with slumlords or apartment managers who just didn't wanna do anything to help you with any problems you might have in your apartment. THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE. The staff here Is on point. From the apartment managers Stephanie and Kailin, who are some of the nicest people I've ever met, The maintenance team who are on top of any problem that you have in your apartment. They'll have it fixed in no time, to the cleaning team who keeps this building immaculate. I have to say the mvp's here are the security. This is downtown Long Beach and we have our fair share of eclectic people walking around but they are on top of any riff raff that might come in. However the person who stands out the most and is the most helpful and friendly person I've EVER met, is Rene. He is one of the key players that keeps this place going. I just wanted to show my appreciation for everyone and say this is a really cool place to live and the staff here (especially Rene and Kailin) are outstanding.

Nobody was in the leasing office when I arrived. I kept to try to get in. When an agent finally arrived she said it was too late to give me a tour but I could do a self guided. Giving 2 stars because the residents were actually more helpful than the agent.

I experience at Avana on Pine has been amazing. It’s honestly the best place I’ve lived. I’ve been a resident for what I believe to be 8..9 years or so now. Everyone loves the building and it’s always had all the necessities for what I need. Right from the beach, bank with Chase, great food and go out spot right downstairs. I recently just helped one of my friends move here and he loves the place as well!

Do not rent from this place. There are serious cleanliness issues, including cockroaches and even mice. The units are outdated, have an unpleasant smell, and are not well maintained. We only rented here due to an emergency, but our experience was very negative. When we moved out, they made excuses to withhold our security deposit and added unexplained charges afterward. We are a very clean and organized couple, and the claim that we caused damage is simply not true. The situation escalated to a collection agency, and we are now pursuing legal action. We also know of other former tenants who had similar experiences, which raises serious concerns about how this place is managed.
