Megan Shupe a year agoI could not in good conscience recommend anyone live here. I lived here for 5 years. The first 3 were great but the last two were terrible. The quality of living took a sharp decline. The following is my opinion based on my personal experience of living here. The positives: great location, the apartment units are well laid out with lots of built in storage, and there is a pool and attached parking. However, the positives don’t outweigh the negatives in my opinion. Those include: - management is very rude, rarely present and dismissive toward residents. The office was open 7 days a week when I moved in. Now it’s only 4. At least once a week residents received an email that the office will either open late or close early. Often times the office is just closed without explanation. When I tried to bring issues to managements attention I was ignored. If I did receive a response it was condescending. Residents who report problems were then treated like they were the problem for complaining and made to feel like they were unwelcome to continue living here. - It is a smoke free building but smoking is a major issue. The hallways often reek of marijuana. Earlier this year there was a huge problem with some residents smoking in the building. It took management far too long to resolve the issue. - We used to have monthly resident events. The current manager has only hosted a handful. Very little notice is provided to residents if they do happen. The manager typically sits in the corner and doesn’t interact with residents. Residents are still charged an amenity fee monthly despite not receiving anything. There is a coffee machine which is often broken. When I moved in the pool was opened early in the season and closed late. Prior managers worked hard to get the pool open by early may. Under the current management there was little to no communication about when the pool would open. Maintenance did not even begin working on it until about mid-may so it opened later than other years. Last summer it was not well maintained. It got very dirty and was closed at one point by the health department. - Security is a joke and safety is not prioritized. On several occasions we found homeless people in the lobby, vestibule, garage and patio. A contributing factor for this is that the garage doors are constantly broken sometimes for weeks/months at a time. Management doesn’t provide communication to residents that they are trying to fix the issue. No follow up communication was provided about efforts to curb homeless people from sleeping on the property. - Communication from management is terrible. - The building is dirty and not being maintained. It was a regular occurrence for trash cans to be overflowing, the trash room itself is disgusting, and there is pigeon poop all over the garage. There is trash, dirt, gravel, etc all over the garage floors. - The carpets in the hallways and stairwells are damaged beyond repair and need to be replaced. They are stained and smell like dog pee. There is one stairwell that is unbearable to walk down. - Resident concerns are not addressed or even received well. I watched this place go from somewhere where people cared - Residents cared about their home and the company cared about providing a quality living environment - but that has ceased to exist. I tried bringing some of these issues to upper management and got fed the company lines and assured the manger would receive additional training. Things actually got worse. The impression I’ve been given is that no one cares. Rent will keep getting increased and additional fees tacked on but they make no improvements to the building. They are not concerned with staffing the building or providing luxury living which is what they advertise. I can’t speak for everyone and this is just my opinion, but I would not rent here.
Kenz K 2 years agoWouldn’t recommend living there. Lived there for two years and it got progressively worse as time went on. The residents I have spoken to have said they are moving out as soon as their lease is up as well. There are no resident events, used to happen almost monthly. The trash room stayed continuously full and overflowing, it was disgusting. Garage doors are frequently broken and not working. Maintence would go into apartments without a heads up. When I put in a maintenance request I asked for notice of entering my apartment due to having a dog and working from home, this request was often ignored. Maintenance also had to move my dresser to access my heater and broke my TV in the process. Lived on the front of the building and it flooded everyday ruining outdoor furniture I had. We had a opossum problem last summer and had 3 running around the building and hanging out on the front patios and around the pool. We ended up catching one ourselves (as residents) to move it. There were often used cigarettes thrown onto my patio - I am not a smoker. For being a “smoke free” property a lot of people smoke on their patios. Also smells heavily of marijuana all over the building. Dogs poop in the hallway. Would find homeless people sleeping in building entry way and lobby. They would also be sleeping out at the pool due to garage door not closing and the back door not locking properly. Thin walls, you can hear all your neighbors. The pool is very dirty. Two summers ago we started with plenty of pool chairs for people and by the end of summer there were like three chairs. People would drive their cars on the sidewalk very recklessly, almost hitting pedestrians. It was never posted that the shared patios had certain hours, management didn’t address this until after residents brought it to their attention. Only positive is the location, would recommend checking other apartments in the Old Market such as Breakers, Brickline, or Old Market Lofts.
McKenna Forsberg a year agoI have lived in the corvina for over a year and a half, the staff is so friendly and helpful! The property manager, Kelley, is always willing to go the extra mile to fix any problem that may have come up. The property is clean with a ton of inviting community spaces! Honestly the nicest apartment I have ever lived in!
Kirsten Ipock a year agoI have lived in the corvina for about a year and a half and have been SO happy. The building is always clean, well kept, and organized. I love having our property manager, Kelley, around. She’s so kind and attentive when listening to what I have to say. I have never made it a point to say hi/bye to property managers until I had her. She just makes my day and always compliments my outfits. We love living here and she is a huge reason as to why.
Angelique Barone 4 years agoI recently moved into the Corvina and I love it. My daughter had lived here for a year prior to me moving in so I was familiar with the property and its amazing amenities but I was not aware of the day to day offerings it has for its residents. The place is beautiful with water features, art and lounges but it is also warm and cozy. It has a poo, workout facilities and an amazing coffee bar. The apartments are modern and beautiful and it is very dog friendly. The office even has treats for your puppy to enjoy. There is a club room and quiet conference room and events are planned for the residents monthly. I have been blown away with how quickly and efficiently any maintenance request6 is addressed and the communication is fantastic. I love having underground parking too. If you are looking for a place to live downtown Corvina has it all. You will not be dissapointed.
