A leak caused by a faulty dishwasher mechanism led to water damage underneath the vinyl flooring in our apartment’s main living area, resulting in significant buckling and uneven flooring that required remediation and replacement work. The issue began on a Friday night, and over the following few days our apartment required a commercial-grade dehumidifier and fan to run continuously while the flooring and water damage were addressed. The uneven flooring, exposed flooring edges, and remediation equipment running in the main living area made the apartment unsuitable for our one-year-old child. We communicated these concerns clearly to the staff at The Crescent at Fells Point. The following Wednesday, flooring contractors came to replace and repair the damaged flooring. After the work was completed, we immediately noticed dust throughout the apartment, including on the oven, counters, floors, and kitchen table, which we ultimately had to clean ourselves. In addition, there was a very harsh odor throughout the apartment that we later learned was caused by the off-gassing period from the flooring adhesive and newly installed materials. Unfortunately, the process did not end there. The replacement flooring was installed unevenly, and there are now multiple areas of the floor with noticeable softness and unevenness. Both leasing and maintenance staff have since come to inspect the condition themselves. We have requested that further repairs be completed while we are away to avoid having to go through this disruption again. After over a week of disruption, temporarily relocating with our one-year-old, additional cleaning responsibilities, and an unresolved flooring installation issue, management’s response was to offer two nights in the guest apartment and a $50 gift card. While the guest apartment option was presented as assistance, it did not help our situation, as it would have required relocating our one-year-old's items such as the crib, changing table, baby monitor, high chair, and other daily necessities. Given the scale of disruption and the practical limitations involved, we did not feel this compensation came anywhere close to reasonably reflecting the impact on our family, and we declined the offer. We have instead chosen to share our experience in a review so that others are aware of how this situation was handled.

I lived here about two years and cannot overstate how much I loved it. The units were so thoughtfully designed and appliances were very well made. I called maintenance maybe twice in my two years there. The kitchen is stunning. The bathroom is beautiful. Closets are nice and big. I moved in when Windsor was the management company. I thought they were great and was nervous when Greystar took over. They were equally wonderful. Maintenance was always timely and effective. The building and grounds were always very clean. Always felt super safe in and around the building. Loved the building events. Felt like I got to know my neighbors well. The location of this building is just incomparable. As is the neighborhood. There were occasional issues like at any building. Flooding issues and busted pipes from time to time and the fire alarm malfunctioned a few times in the middle of the night. But the building staff always dealt with issues with speed and care. My employment situation changed halfway through my time there and the building management was incredibly understanding and accommodating. I felt like my residency here was valued by them. If my new job didn’t require me to move to a new city I would have stayed for a long time. The amenities are really nothing to write home about but that was something I liked about the building. I didn’t feel like I was spending all this money on amenities I’d never use. I was spending it on the unit and staff. I chose the building in the first place because of the parking garage. The garage has a full door that opens and closes to let cars in, not just an arm that comes up and down. So that made me feel very safe. I couldn’t have designed an apartment better myself to fit my needs.

I had a great experience working with Taylor Thompson, the leasing consultant at the Crescent. From the moment I started my apartment search to the seamless move-in process, Taylor's expertise and proactive approach made a significant difference. She took the time to understand my preferences, ensuring I found the perfect apartment that aligned with my needs. Her professionalism and efficiency during the application process were impressive. She anticipated my needs, making the entire experience stress-free. The Crescent's location in the quiet part of the bustling Fells Point neighborhood is perfect for anyone new to Baltimore. I highly recommend Taylor and the Crescent for their exceptional service and well-managed, beautiful and comfortable apartments.
