Within weeks of moving in, I reported recurring cat pee smell, cigarette and weed smoke coming through the vents and windows at all hours. Despite being a non-smoking property (indoors), I suffered from headaches and chest pains due to the air quality. Management (HG Fenton) was largely ineffective. They admitted to smelling all of these odors in the vents but never resolved it. I provided medical documentation regarding the impact of secondhand smoke, but they only provided a single air purifier that was not rated for the size of the unit and asked that I carry it around. Communication was misleading regarding security. I didn't know until moving here that management does not have an office on site. I was told to call an after hours patrol, but the patrol later informed me they are only available from 10pm to 6am which left me without recourse when the smoking was most frequent. This also means 7 hours everyday without security (outside of management's office hours). Most heartbreakingly, my young, otherwise healthy, vaccinated service dog was diagnosed with respiratory issues immediately after moving out, which the vet attributes to the smoke-filled environment. When I tried to leave, management attempted to have me sign documents to prevent me from sharing my experience. I refused because prospective tenants need to know the truth. If you value your health or your pet’s safety, please look elsewhere.

We lived here for 2 years and it was an amazing stay. The urbana team was always beyond helpful and that goes for the leasing agents, maintenance team janitorial etc. Moving in was a super easy process, straight forward and they assisted us with any of our questions. They were always quick to respond and be patient with us as tenants. The building was always clean, and we never had any issues with getting maintenance requests fulfilled quickly. Very sad to leave this beautiful apartment behind!

This is one of the best apartment buildings I’ve lived in. The management team and staff are so friendly and attentive and the building is always immaculate. Anytime I put in a maintenance request, it’s resolved quickly. Love it here

Hands down, the best place I've ever lived. The management staff is the most kind group of hard working people I've met. They always greet me and my dog in the friendliest way and are always eager to ask how we are doing. Definitely feels like home. Any issues in or about my unit, they are quick to respond and get it taken care of. Renewed my lease in July, and will definitely do so again next year. Thank you Urbana crew for being so great.

I moved to San Diego in October 2020 and had the best 3.5 years living at Urbana. I would tour a few apartments each coming renewal to see what was out there, but only continued to find reasons to re-sign my lease. Lauryn and everyone on the property are friendly and value you as a resident. Maintenance prioritized residents and many times the request would be handled same-day. Resident activities are unique and always a great time to meet and hang out with your neighbors. If you’re looking for a great community in a top-tier location in downtown San Diego, award-winning Urbana is a solid choice.
