I would recommend The Alfred 100x over! I've never had a leasing management team that cared as much as this team does. Any issue I brought to them was immediately handled and handled with care and grace, not begrudgingly as I've experienced in the past. The maintenance team was speedy too. I renewed my lease once and would've renewed again if I didn't have to leave Oakland. Speaking of, I had to leave suddenly and they were extremely understanding!! They really were a Godsend for me :) I truly hope that if I ever need to stay in another apartment complex, the team is just like Sunny & Gina. Jarius (sp?) is an amazing leasing agent as well! They are all super knowledgeable and truly care about their residents. Bonus: the view from the rooftop is breathtaking (probably the best you can get from Oakland) & the amenities are great overall - I pretty much used all of them 🤭 I'm so happy God landed me there during my time in The Town! Wishing y'all all the best 🫶🏾

I lived here for 2 years and only had to move out due to a job relocation. 17th and Broadway was a wonderful place to live. Amenities are top notch. You get unbelievable bay area views on the roof. Many fun days at the pool with friends and other residents. Hot Tub is open year round, great for jumping in after a workout in the gym. The Apartment complex is maintained very clean 24/7. All of the residents are very friendly and respectful! Also, being on 17th and Broadway, you're literally in the middle of it all. It takes 5 minutes to catch a Bart train in any direction and literally takes 10 min to get into the city. I highly recommend 17th and Broadway for anyone who is looking for the best living and luxury in all of the east bay. Special shout out to the onsite property management team, you guys are the best!

I have lived here since June of 2025, and I have nothing but good things to say about The Alfred. The move in process was easy, the amenities are nice, and the location is great. What really has made all the difference between this apartment and other apartments I have lived in is the team. Sunny and Gina in the leasing office are so friendly, and always ready to chat. Onaja, the concierge, is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without a smile. I haven’t worked with Jarius, but he never fails to say hello and ask how I am doing. The community here always is very welcoming, and when I have had an issue (very rare and never very serious), they work with me to get it solved right away. I have personally not had a SINGLE maintenance issue in my apartment since I’ve been here. I haven’t required any maintenance, so I can’t really speak on the maintenance team. Everything has worked perfect. Also the elevators were down for a decent period because of a water incident, but the Property Team gave tenants a multitude of options such as hotel fare reimbursement, a hotel block they booked, or even rent omission if you decided to stay. Two of the elevators took some time to come back online, but those that are complaining about it do not understand Supply Chain issues with large components like that. The apartment works with a vendor who then allocates the correct components, and not all parts are readily available. The team here was communicative through the whole process. Overall, I would recommend the Alfred to anybody, and anyone that has visited me has been jealous that they don’t live here. Be the envy of your friends!

The property at 17 & Broadway is truly stunning at first glance; its design and finishes convey an elegant and attractive aesthetic from the moment you see it. Yet it is while living here that its true value becomes evident—a precious and comfortable home that feels crafted for everyday life. I am glad I chose 17 & Broadway as my new home; the experience has exceeded my expectations in every aspect, from the quality of the facilities to the overall atmosphere of the building. I’d like to highlight the people who make this experience possible. Sonny is an exceptional individual: professional, attentive, and committed to resident satisfaction. Gina Wong is incredibly kind and diligent; her support has been essential from start to finish, consistently ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that my stay is pleasant. In short, I would confidently recommend 17 & Broadway to anyone seeking a home that combines beauty, comfort, and top-tier resident service.

I’m a bay area native and spent many years in SF, LA, San Jose, and Mountain View. This year I decided to give Oakland a go as I’ve accumulated a lot of furniture over the years and wanted a little more space comparatively to units I was reviewing directly in The City. I was initially exploring the Jack London area when a happy accident led to me to The Alfred and I couldn’t be happier. The units are beautifully kept with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Co-working spaces, gym, pool, recreation rooms, conference rooms, and even small executive rooms available for company events should you ever need to host for a group presentation. The area is also very walkable to lake merrit, bart, and fox theatre which was a huge plus for me. From tour to move-in day everything has been made so smooth by the kind team here. A big shoutout goes to Ja’Rius who has been very accommodating throughout the process. From answering all my questions, his timely follow up, overall thoughtfulness throughout - he’s wonderful representation for the building team and a big reason why I chose this community.
