Prabhjot 5 months agoI lived here for a year and honestly had a great experience. The staff are very kind and helpful, the building feels safe, and everything is always clean. The second-floor lounge is a really nice space to sit and get work done, and the free Wi-Fi is a plus. The only reason I’m moving out is because it’s getting expensive, and the extra charges/utilities can be confusing. Other than that, it’s a great place to live and I’d recommend it if it fits your budget.
jena ruiz a month agoDon't recommend at all. They allow pets okay! but at least tell the owners to clean after their pets elevators always full of shit and smells terrible. On top of that, dealing with fees and deposits feels shady. Even when you follow the rules and leave everything in great shape, they still find ways to charge you or keep your deposit. Overall, it’s been a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere.
Chris Schieman 10 months agoI lived in the Standard for two years and saw the total collapse of this building as it changed leadership roles. I 100% regret signing my second lease here, so glad I left, and I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Since the new owners and management, the Standard quality, service, and professionalism completely went away. The Standard seems to think it can charge higher end downtown rental rates, without any of the amenities. There is no pool at the Standard, no roof-top, no parking that’s not blocks away. All of the other higher end buildings downtown have at least 1-2 of these options. My current building has a parking garage a block away, and roof-top access, AND the rent is less than the Standard. When Berger took over, immediately security was slashed. There is no security in the building in the middle of the night. Once, I had random people who wandered into the building knocking on my door. When I brought this to the attention of the old manager, she expressed sincere concern about the changes being made and passed me off to some corporate Berger lackey who seemed to read from a manual about how they “care about my concerns.” Then, the old manager abruptly left. She was replaced by her assistant, Joe, another corporate lackey who seems to relish the opportunity to defend mommy and daddy Berger. I had a neighbor who smoked pot constantly and the smell drifted into the vents. I complained about it, and rather than actually do something, they send out the same rules letter via email. To the surprise of no one, the weed smells persisted. But Joe sure didn't have a problem confronting me when I dared to ask for an extra week to decide on my lease renewal. I’ve never had a more unprofessional encounter in my life. This year, the utility bills all of a sudden doubled in price. They claimed they made a mistake in the billing. However, I know for a fact that our rates before they doubled were standard with what friends in other buildings are currently paying. My move out electric bill is $90 and I wasn't sent any sort of bill showing usage. I guess “just trust me bro” is Berger's billing policy. The fees at this place are wild. Fees, on top of fees, on top of fees. Whatever they quote you, add about $35-$50 extra a month on top of that. They had the nerve to charge me a $5 service fee on returning MY deposit! While many of the units are lovely, they are no longer maintained. Even little things like getting the a/c air filter replaced stopped as soon as Berger took over. The building smells terrible. Floors go uncleaned for weeks at a time. Joe will give you a fake smile, but his underlings will glare at you instead of saying hello, praying you don’t ask them to do their jobs. There’s a lot more I could go on and on about, but, mark my words, the Standard is the next Reserve Square. When you have owners that do not care, it’s not long before the building becomes a shell of itself. There are too many other better options for downtown living (with more coming), and the Standard ownership has zero desire to match the most basic of services and respect for their tenants.
swetha p a year agoI’ve had a wonderful experience with this property and the leasing team has been incredibly helpful from the very beginning. If you’re considering a move to Downtown Cleveland, I highly recommend this apartment — the view from the unit is absolutely stunning. Before moving in, I had several questions, and the leasing team, especially Joseph, was extremely patient and thorough in addressing all of them. The apartment itself is modern, spacious, and well-designed, and the building offers a wide range of amenities that truly enhance the living experience. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality place to live in the heart of the city.
Lucas Walden a year agoMy wife and I lived in at The Standard for a total of four years and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The Standard is one of the best valued apartments in downtown Cleveland. A major advantage of The Standard is the close proximity to all three sports teams, various as several concerts venues and the train to the airport. Molly and Joe were excellent management to work with and part of the reason we stayed there for so long.
