Toured this building today and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The apartment had tons of windows and nice views. I like the art installations and decorations in the common areas. Definitely not cookie cutter!

Saturday night I got assaulted by 5 white guys directly in front of this building and I am doing my own due diligence to obtain police camera footage while cops work on the police report and try to get leads of where my assaulted fled. That is not why I am writing this review. I am writing this review because as my blood til this moment lies on the sidewalk from getting assaulted, and my eye is swollen shut with a busted lip I muster up the confidence and strength to go back to the location of the crime scene. Whoever the caucasian brunette lady that was working at the leasing office on Monday January 12, 2026 at 3 P.M. needs to be seriously let go. I walked into every establishment around the area, not in a suit and tie but as clean as I could possibly get myself to talk to a representative to tell me if they were able to obtain exterior camera footage of the location of the attack. Whoever this lady was one wouldn’t let me in and told me to call the leasing office after she clearly knew I pressed the leasing office button on the pinpad. She then proceeded to look at a man, battered and bruised, in the eyes and up and down who showed her nothing but respect and very aggressively told me we have nothing get out of here. I am not asking for sympathy I’m asking for respect. My blood was shed on your sidewalk a simple sorry there is no footage we have of the exterior of the building would have been sufficient, but she had to take it up a notch to kick a man down who was trying to get some help while he was already down. Whoever you are I hope you reflect on your actions and for the owners of crown, you need to do a deep dive into who you are staffing because you cannot let such a beautiful apartment be tainted by such a disingenuous staff. That is an absolute poor reflection on your building as well as the city of Charlotte.

The outside handle of my apartment’s front door fell off today, meaning I could not enter my apartment. I had no way to contact the leasing office or maintenance, my multiple calls to both went unanswered. The online maintenance portal is “out of service” After 20 minutes of waiting for a leasing office representative to appear, I was informed that maintenance would be here in “20 minutes”. This was 30 minutes ago. It has now been over an hour of me being unable to access my apartment to administer important medication to my pet and self. This is completely unacceptable. Additionally, building management has changed 3 times in my 1 year here. All of these changes happened with no notice to the residents and have left noticeable gaps in service. EDIT: Editing this review to reiterate the terrible communication from management that has been alleged in other reviews. They are impossible to contact via email and you are lucky to catch them in person as their office is only open during normal business hours. The office phone number has no option to leave a voicemail. This is the same for maintenance. Parking is also a mess in this building. Several cars were broken into a few months ago and I first found out via a Reddit post, not from management directly. I have little faith in the new management company (Greystone) resolving these issues as they are plagued with their own issues (SEE: Greystar Agrees to Pay $24 Million and Stop Deceptive Advertising Practices as a Result of FTC and Colorado Lawsuit Alleging the Firm Deceived Consumers About Rent Prices) UPDATE: I am currently trapped inside of my apartment as my front door will not open. There is still no way to get ahold of maintenance and the leasing office is closed as it is a Sunday. I have been trapped for over 30 minutes with no response or help from management.

Lived here for 2.5 years and found it a lovely place to live. The staff are friendly and attentive, the amenities clean and usually open, and the location was unbeatable. Only struggle was definitely the overall lack of parking in the garage for residents and guests alike, but that’s an issue you’ll face anywhere in south end or uptown. My move in and out when extremely smoothly and I would recommend living here to anyone looking around!

This was $750 of damage at our move out. Be the judge yourself with the pictures. They claimed the dryer door was ripped off. You look at the picture and it’s very much attached. The plastic piece was not removed when I left. I’m pretty sure they removed it and charged us which is blatant fraud. There’s one damaged blind, however, one picture is mine walking out and the other is the apartments. You can see they tampered with the hanging blind and even removed another. Ugh, just a very frustrating experience. I’ve stayed at 3 other apartments in Charlotte and always had very reasonable charges plus timely itemizations of charges. This isn’t normal…renter beware. They never sent us an itemized list of charges which is illegal in the state of North Carolina. The living experience wasn’t horrible but I’d be cautious of how this management team will treat you seeing their willingness to take advantage of tenants with no recourse. I’ve filed a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General.
