Akhil Goel a month agoVery disappointing experience with Camden Grandview and its shared services team. The leasing process initially seemed smooth, but the move-out experience was frustrating and stressful. I was charged multiple fees and utility-related amounts that were difficult to clearly reconcile, and when I questioned some of the charges, the communication felt more threatening than helpful. As someone who lived here with my wife and 1-year-old child, I also did not feel the community environment matched the premium pricing. Me and my family never felt safe to walk around the society after dark. I have already paid the final balance to avoid further stress, but I would not recommend this community based on my personal experience. Prospective tenants should carefully review all lease terms, move-out conditions, and recurring charges before signing.
Cole H 7 months agoOverall, I really loved this apartment, so it saddens me to give it a 2 star review. PROS: -Concierge: The concierge team is very professional. Disregard any reviews on here saying negative things about the concierge or anyone at the front desk. Most of the people who are leaving those reviews are Uber eats drivers and other delivery drivers who park in a spot blocking the entrance to the parking garage and get upset when asked to move. Veronica and team are the best! -Location: The location is pretty much unbeatable. 5 minute walk to work and 5 minute walk to South End. -Amenities: Amenities are fantastic. Great small gym, great pool table, pool, etc. -View: The view of uptown is fantastic if you get an apartment on the back side. CONS: General: Noise from the highway, consistently broken elevators, super tight parking garage. -Ventillation: our apartment had an issue with ventilation causing condensation to form on the windows in the winter. We were told by management and maintenance that this was because the building was old. They kindly let us borrow dehumidifiers for the duration of our rental period, but we had to run these pretty much every day through the winter and occasionally during the rest of the year. The humidity was so bad that we had puddles form under the windows if we cooked or showered. This led to more mold. -Mold: Mold was something we dealt with from the first day we moved in with mold under two of our sinks from water damage. It was not excessive and maintainance came, cleaned the mold, and replaced the water damaged wood. When we had mold under the windows, maintenance came and cleaned (using bleach on wood) and provided de-humidifiers. Despite all of these efforts, mold kept appearing in all the cracks and crevices around windows and in the bathroom. I talked to maintenance and management about this and they offered to inspect the AC unit with me there (see photos below), and they allowed me to take a sample (and photos) to get mold tested. Maintenance was insistent that what I was seeing was just dust. I additionally tested the air in the apartment and air coming from the AC vent (following the instructions in the test kit). Well, all three samples were positive for mold and grew about every color of mold you can imagine. I brought these tests back to management and they agreed to bring out a third party mold expert. The mold expert (along with two maintenance workers) came out promptly a couple days later and walked around in the apartment with some sort of hand-held meter for about 120 seconds and then began to walk out without even looking at the mold above the windows or in the AC unit. I then asked the mold expert if he wanted to see the mold to which he shrugged his shoulders and said sure. He took about 30 seconds to look at the mold, took no samples, and left. He said he would communicate his results with management and they would communicate the results with me. I got a call a week later from management that the mold expert had concluded that there was "not an unsafe level of mold." Regardless of this result, they kindly offered to have both AC units cleaned by their maintenance workers. The maintenance worker came out the next day with some sort of bleach spray (to kill the thing that was not mold), and sprayed down the inside of the AC unit. He spent no more than two minutes in the apartment and did not make any effort to actually clean the mold out. Additionally, he only "cleaned" one of the AC units and promptly left. -Maintenance: This was not the first time we had issues with maintenance. We had had a maintenance worker mark multiple service requests complete that he did not complete. I guess he thought we wouldn't notice? Ultimately the mold issue was never really resolved so we ended up moving out when our lease expired. This building is fairly old and has AC, ventilation, and humidity issues. They are renovating some of the apartments - hopefully this helps. If you have young kids or are sensitive to mold, I would not recommend living here.
Varuni Shama Rao 5 years agoThis is the best place to live in Charlotte. The amenities, the closet shelves, bathroom shelves are amazing. The house is spacious. The balcony view is mesmerizing. Have been to see a lot of houses in Charlotte but no luxury apartments even comes close to this place. The management are super friendly. Special shout-out to all the Concierges for their help 24/7. Especially Veronica and Dennis. Every morning on the way to office, Veronica’s biggest, warmest smile will fill you with energy and positivity. I have lived here from 2years and loved every minute of it. BEST APARTMENT EVER!!!!
Sylvia 3 months agoI have been a resident here for 5 months now. Whenever I’ve had an issue, (minor) it was solve within a day by the maintenance team. I’ve been treated with nothing but professionalism by each number of the staff here. I was very lucky to get a view of the skyline, which is very pretty to watch at night. Although this is not one of the newest buildings downtown, it’s still one of the best to live in.
