The West End Apartments - Asteria, Villas and Vesta

I rented an apartment at 4 Emerson Place and was under the impression that someone was to be at the desk 24/7. I stopped at the front desk to pick up a package at 1:30 am Saturday night. The desk workers jacket was hanging on the back of the chair so I thought I would wait for their return. I waited 45 minutes with the worker being completely MIA. The building is supposed to be a secured building with fob access with a desk person accepting after hour deliveries. In the 45 minutes I was waiting 4 separate individuals who were not residents entered the building by simply pulling the unsecured front door open dropping off food orders or looking for directions to other buildings who then had full access to the upper floor apartments via the elevator. This is not the level of security or service that I was promised when I signed my lease agreement.

10 years @Asteria and it has been an absolutely best experience! Why so long? 1. Cannot beat location with accessibility to Beacon Hill, Seaport, Charles River, Cambridge and Downtown Crossing - arguably best location in town. 2. Very safe and secure as location is right next to the mass general hospital. Always security of some sort around. 3. Amazing staff that did change over the years but overall that’s part of the reason I stayed! Heartily shoutout to Mike from maintenance, Gabby and Brandon from the leasing office. Paul the doorman was my favorite - always to detail oriented and organized! 4. Many residents stay for many years given all the positives provided above. It’s nice to have a rental building that’s not fully transient. 5. Building is mostly doctors, nurses and residents so generally very quiet. Only two negatives: gym is very old and needs a facelift; garage is very expensive and gross, scary (drug addicts) but that’s controlled by mass general not west end apartments.

Love this property! The building is very well maintained, the amenities are really good and the view from the building is amazing. I also love the building staff, they’re so friendly and helpful. There’s a nice dog park outside and the property also has a really nice walking space for pets. Some of the advantages of the location of this property are: 1. Close to some of the best places in Boston - Beacon Hill, Boston Common, North End. 2. Easy access to red line (Charles MGH), green line (Science Park/West End) and Commuter (North End). 3. Close proximity to MGH, Mass General Eye and Ear and so many other medical facilities.

I moved to the West End Apartments (Vesta) 3 weeks ago and really happy about my decision. The leasing office team is very friendly and helpful. Brandon made the paper work and the whole moving in very fast and efficient. He also helped me to get acquainted with the neighbourhood as I am new to Boston. The maintenance team is very professional. I had a problem with a dishwasher. Michael came the very next day and fixed it. Amenities of this building are great, love the library! And the location is just fantastic!

Watchout. Parking coupon did not work. Leasing office gave coupons which did not work. Parking attendant said it is not their problem. Leasing office asked to talk o Parking attendant. Ended up paying $21 for barely 30 minutes stay there. The leasing assistant had no clue. Probably was just a fill in for regulars.
