I’ve lived at the Whit for 18 months and waited to write this for accuracy. I know I relied heavily on reviews before moving in. Overall, I really enjoy living here and would absolutely recommend it. I have friends in other downtown apartment complexes and the overall experience here seems to be one of the best. Move-In Experience: Overall, very smooth. The management team was responsive and professional. The only hiccup was that the adjoining parking garage was full when I moved in, which wasn’t communicated to me ahead of time. Since safety and connected parking were important to me, that was disappointing. I parked two blocks away for about two months before getting a spot. Aside from that oversight, communication has been excellent and the office is run very professionally. Amenities: A great mix of facilities. The gym and public spaces are well maintained. The pool and grill area are especially nice in summer, though weekends can sometimes feel a bit “frat party” with louder music and groups. If you’re sensitive to daytime noise, consider apartment placement carefully. Apartment: I live in a large 3-bedroom and absolutely love it. This is the biggest plus for me — it truly feels like home. Great park views, lots of natural light, and plenty of storage. Appliances aren’t high-end but work perfectly well. The balcony fits a comfy chair which is lovely in summer. I’m on the Pennsylvania Ave side, so road noise (especially fire engines) can be noticeable. I’ve adjusted, but light sleepers should be aware. Maintenance: Exceptional. Tickets are handled quickly and professionally. I often allow access while I’m at work and have never had an issue. Huge credit to the team. General Upkeep: Another strong positive. Corridors and public areas are kept very clean, and the cleaning team is consistently visible. However, one elevator is out of service on a regular basis — often enough that it feels like an ongoing issue rather than an occasional repair. This can be inconvenient, especially during busy times. Package Delivery: Amazon lockers plus a package room, and the leasing team actually organizes packages, making them easy to find — a really nice touch. Security: I feel pretty safe. It’s a large building with people coming and going, but I’ve never felt uncomfortable. The parking lot is a bit more sketchy, I tend to avoid the stairs. Location: Excellent — central downtown but just north of areas that can feel less comfortable late at night. Noise & Neighbors: As with any apartment building, you will hear neighbors at times. The walls aren’t paper thin, but loud music or gatherings carry. I’ve had louder upstairs neighbors recently, and management has responded appropriately to complaints. Before that, it was very peaceful. Some of this is simply apartment living. I currently have a long commute north of Indianapolis and may move this year to reduce that. If I do leave, I’ll genuinely be sorry to go. I’ll update this review with my move-out experience when the time comes.

My partner and I have had a very pleasant experience living here. We have a corner apartment but have lived in two apartments here. Both have been very quiet. Neighbors are nice and respectful. Maintenance and staff are very responsive, and we haven't had many issues with our apartment. They are kept in good condition and well maintained. Emails about updates and issues are regular and communication is solid. The parking garage connected is well maintained too. Packages and amazon hub are also clean and trustworthly for delivery. The gym has enough stuff for modt workouts. Overall we pay a bit of a premium but feel it's been worth it definitely for its ideal location and overall respectful culture.

Live at the Whit if you hate yourself. - I moved out of this building in April. It is now beyond the State’s 45-day limit, and I have not received any update about my $500 security deposit. I contacted them several times (also contacted Zidan’s office) until finally one of the property managers called and asked me to give them a forwarding address (which I had already provided before I moved out). It has been more than a week since that call, and I still have not received anything. I think I have to see them in the court soon. - The management team is incompetent, and they know that they are incompetent. Thus, they take an aggressive, rude stance against the residents whenever they are questioned. Just ignore whatever they say about the new owner and their ‘plans for improvement.’ (See Zidan’s reviews). - You will pay the price of luxury living but you will be living in a trash can. See the pictures.

I had to move to Indy for a new job downtown and I had to find a pet-friendly place on short notice. A friend recommended The Whit and I didn't need to look any further. The new building is beautiful, the entire staff is friendly both before and after I signed my lease. The amenities are off the charts, the residents are all friendly, and everyone from the leasing office to maintenance and the cleaning staff all really care about you and the community. At this point I couldn't even imagine living anywhere else in Indianapolis. The Whit is the place you want to be.
