Had a great year living year! Of the 3 properties I lived at in Wichita this was my favorite. I would be happy renting here again if I'm ever back in Wichita, since I'm only moving away because of work.

Today’s experience with The Lux was nothing short of disgraceful. I had a confirmed appointment, scheduled days in advance through both phone and email with Emily, set for 5:00 PM. Emily even emailed earlier today to reconfirm the exact time and location. Yet when I arrived, I found a handwritten sign taped to the door: "Out until 5:30 PM." I waited — only to be greeted well after 5:30 PM by a man whose behavior was not just unprofessional but openly hostile. Despite my documented confirmation of the meeting, he insisted that Emily was in another building and would not be meeting me. No apology. No explanation. Nothing but condescension and arrogance. When I pressed for an answer, he revealed he was Emily’s boss — and at that moment, everything about The Lux’s terrible reputation online made perfect sense. He then had the audacity to tell me, "We wouldn't rent to you anyway." This, after they had been aggressively pursuing me for days as a relocating engineer from the West Coast. The sheer disrespect, dishonesty, and arrogance from someone in a management role was truly stunning. It appears The Lux prefers to argue with unhappy customers in their Google reviews rather than address serious, systemic problems in their staff. That’s fine. I am more than prepared to battle this out publicly. And let me be clear: I will not rest until I find this individual’s superior and report this disgraceful conduct at the highest level possible. If this is how they treat a potential customer, imagine the nightmare of being locked into a lease under their control. This man’s behavior was not just a failure — it was a complete collapse of professionalism, customer care, and basic human decency. Advice to anyone even thinking about renting at The Lux: RUN. Do not walk. Find another property. You deserve better. The Lux promises a "luxury" experience but delivers the exact opposite, and their growing list of negative reviews, along with my firsthand experience, proves it. Shame on The Lux. Shame on its leadership. And shame on anyone who allows this kind of behavior to continue unchecked. UPDATE: It’s become even more evident that The LUX follows a consistent pattern of deflecting blame and refusing to take accountability for its poor service and customer failures. A quick glance through their reviews shows a disturbing trend: they routinely shift responsibility onto tenants or prospective renters instead of owning up to their mistakes. They never accept responsibility — not once. Fortunately, I got a clear look at their true colors before signing a lease. The way I was treated was unprofessional, dismissive, and flat-out dishonest. If this is how they treat potential tenants, I can only imagine how they treat current residents. I called out a so-called “manager” on his lies, and I’m sure they’ll refuse to rent to me because of it — which, in hindsight, is a blessing. If this person is truly in management, he is in desperate need of basic customer service training — though, frankly, he’s so far gone I doubt he could pass a beginner-level course. Out of the three apartment communities I toured, The LUX was by far the worst — both in appearance and professionalism. I ended up signing with a much better-managed property, and even encouraged coworkers to do the same. We’re now happily settled with a team that actually values its residents.

My husband surprised me with a birthday party here! The event was perfect! He had the space all day to get our friends in to decorate. There was ample room as he invited over 100 guests, though only about 60 showed up, we could have easily and comfortably accommodated over 100. The food was catered by Larkspur and you can't go wrong there! We has chicken and steak skewers, meatballs, hummus, spinach and article dip, pita chips, tortilla chips, fruit, and cheese. There was a fully stocked bar (we went the cash bar route). There was a sound system wr hooked into to play music, avoiding the cost of a DJ. The staff was very friendly and helpful making the atmosphere great for our event. You won't go wrong choosing this space for your next event or party as well!

I’m grateful for the 3 years I lived at the Lux! I enjoyed it being in walking distance to the farmer’s market, local restaurants, and downtown events. I particularly loved visiting Adelitas Coffee on the main floor of the building. It was nice and convenient to have that perk! We enjoyed lots of natural light in our apartment, the building being pet-friendly, and efficient maintenance whenever we needed help with something. I definitely recommend the Lux to friends and family. Thanks for taking care of us during this season of life!

I lived at the Lux for almost 4 years renting an apartment unit. The location downtown is perfect and safe with ample parking options and even a secure garage. I had no issues during my time renting here. Management is great and they quickly helped me solve a couple minor issues or items that came up during my tenancy. I highly recommend renting here if you are looking for a spot downtown. This was the fourth place I rented at downtown so far and overall I can easily say it has been and is the best. Thank you!!
