Matthew g 6 months agoI lived here many years ago when it was called Akepo Arms, early 1990's. It was 250/mo when I moved in, and 280 per month when I moved out. I had a red '84 Corvette that I parked across the street at the Shell gas station for $20/month. I lived on the 4th floor facing King Street, first apartment next to the stairs. Great mountain view. Building always had shady con artists and some nice people. Everyone tried to borrow money, tho. One jerk gave me a wired alarm clock as collateral for a $20 loan. He was a weight lifter with more muscle than manners and came knocking on my door in the middle of the night to get back his alarm clock so that he wouldn't sleep in. But he hadn't paid off his interest free loan. I became friends with one Micronesian guy from Udot, Chuuk who taught me Faus Chuuk. Negin nioch. At och. Na anut. Na pincho 😂 I took a family friend to Island West to help them get a place to live. Around 2022. I thought the new rent was expensive for the size and location. Tenant must be employed to rent there.
Kristina Botkin a year agoMy husband and I came here after some struggles and we were received with open arms by Linda the PM and Fred the Maintenance Manager and also Henry. The building is tattered yes, but clean and full of love. Neighbors are caring, and it’s a good place to start or start again. Rent is really fair and security is always available if not walking the grounds. The rooms are small but if you’re creative you can have what you need. (Store and organize up) If you need help ask the ladies on the ground floor that convene near the laundry room, the Aunties always smiling and bringing the vibe. If you’re struggling or need a place to start from, call Linda she’s a straight shooter and she’ll help you if you’re willing to help yourself. Rented here for almost a year. get yourself on the parking spot list right away, it takes a couple months. and street parking spaces is the only thing that Id complain about. Anyone giving this place bad reviews was doing things they shouldn’t have been doing and keeping neighbors up in the middle of the night ONE TOO MANY TIMES. . I know I lived in building B K&NB312
Meme Lemafa a year agoI have lived here and was very grateful when I was able to sign the lease agreement back in Aug. 2021. I was pregnant with my first child and currently only child who is 2 years old now. It was great at first, we had high hopes of being able to stay here long enough to start over again somewhere new...but I suppose things took a different turn apparently. We mind our own business no matter what. Now all of a sudden everyone wanted to get into our business and turn against us when we did nothing wrong, all that drama led to us getting a lease cancelation notice today.. I caught up with the rent payments, complied with ALL the rules, kept it simple and didn't cause no drama. Building needs to be condemned tbh so many deaths have happened since we moved into this B building it's scary if you're as spiritual as I am. Yes, the utilities are included for a reasonable price, but the area and neighborhood is so bad, I couldn't even take my son outdoors all the time because of that. But I do not recommend anyone choose to live here because there's so much 'dirty dirt' going on here it's not even funny. Don't move in or even consider living in this complex because it's literally the most worst place to be. Plenty of discrimination towards younger tenants (myself and my other half) , also if you looking for your name getting passed around behind your back along with rumors...be the guest of their dreams haha! My fiancée's uncles are the maintenance, and they literally had to sign away their rights to being an "at-will employee" by Fred. Staff are rude and lazy too. DONT DO IT!
Noelani No-Two 6 years agoGreat pricing! Let me rephrase that... The BEST price point for its extremely convenient downtown/ Chinatown location! Which includes your electricity/utility bill! Gotta just be the "starving artist" type to turn your lil' unit into your very own sanctuary! Property managed very professionally and tenants aren't even "low life" like I've read or heard before visiting my friend who lives here! Pretty darn quiet and mellow!
Jashua Walker 5 years agoThis complex has a very responsive and hard working staff. The only thing keeping me from rating it higher are things beyond the control of said staff. These are: Residents jarring doors open for non residents to come in and Aageneral air of degradation brought about by the neighborhood itself. Further it is hard to get packages from Amazon due to the UPS being unable to deliver anything that does not fit in the mailbox.
