debbie k 2 years agoDebbie K. Halewai'Olu Senior Residence is a great place for senior living. It's relaxing and comfortable. Also pet friendly with an outdoor play area. The Office Staff are all friendly and greats us with a smile and say hi. They treat you like their family. Mr. Art is friendly and kind. He patiently explains and he is very helpful. He's a nice man. The building is beautiful. The inside has a nice lobby to sit relax and socialize. The rooms are spacious and nice with air conditioning. It's also conviniant and in walking distance to a lot of places. Now there is a Bus Stop right in front of the building making it even more convenient. There's activities for the tennents. Like parties for different occasions. My Family and I recently moved in and we love it here. We are happy to call Halewai'olu Senior Residence our home. It is Home Sweet Home.
Jeffrey Lewis 4 months agoI love living in the unit When I first sat down with Heather in the office 2 years ago she was very kind to me and her Aloha spirit meant everything to me and our unit feels this throughout staff and residents and new unit manager Erika after several months and meetings she exhibits confidence that she runs the unit well and can handle everything necessary that a unit needs she's been excellent at the helm and I'm very comfortable with her in charge plus Art handling his side of the unit I'm very impressed with his expertise and took care of minor issue right away as soon as he could and showed great professional support during inspections too Its nice and quiet here to rest and sleep especially at night with windows closed its good spot to live looking over the stream adds peaceful setting and sunset every evening and each emergency in the unit was handled well in the aftermath cleaning and getting it back to daily fairly quickly Windows cleaning perfect timing too and carpet shampoo they were pristine day after in the whole unit she worked hard i saw her so keep up the good work and thank you for a good unit to live in Honolulu
Tom Simon a year agoThe building appears to be clean and well cared for with many amenities, including a laundry, a covered walking track, and a number of activity rooms. Our very quiet, comfortable, 2-bedroom apartment is air conditioned, has a nice kitchen, and the bathroom is designed for someone with limited mobility. The application process for Halewai'olu was rather tedious, but Heather helped us get through it. It took me 3 days to move our things, and Heather arranged access to the loading dock and an elevator each day, making the move possible. All of the residents who we have met seem very nice, so it feels like a friendly community. Also, we are next to Chinatown, where my wife loves to shop. We are looking forward to our stay here, at Halewai'olu.
Todd Rohm 10 months agoThere is a lot of paperwork that needs to be done before you are even considered for the next step. Next is even more paperwork and then it all goes to the mainland for review. We appreciate that the local management helped in pushing our application through and in just over two weeks we got approved. Next was going over the house rules and signing the 12 month lease. This was your standard process and in a few hours we were done. Moving in poses it's own challenges. You need to let the on-site management office know if you want access to the loading dock. This in itself was not much of an issue. What is a challenge, is all of the employees car parked in the loading zone. Narrow passageways between cars. If you have bulky Items it is difficult, if not impossible to get your items into the building. We stopped moving things in and are looking at doing it after the employees leave for the day. Limiting the time in one day, when you can move your stuff in. The apartment is large and open format main living area. There are a few oddities like AC in one bedroom and the main living area. The second bedroom has a ventilation system that draws the air from the living area to cool off that bedroom. Additionally, there are no ceiling fixtures in the bedrooms and main living area. The only fixtures are in the kitchen and bathroom. They choose to put outlets on light switches instead. The kitchen cabinets are shallow and we are unable to close the cabinets fully because they bang against the large dinner plates. Finally, the shower set up is a little wonky. The shower pan is long but very narrow. Also the curtain rod is set towards the outside of the shower pan. Directing any spray onto the bathroom floor. Lastly, the shower head is positioned extremely low. At 5'10" tall the shower head is at my shoulder height. Now the shower head is detachable but if I want to standard under the shower head I have to stoop, crouch or neal to do so. The building is only 2 years old and the staff has taken very good care of the facilities. The few shortcomings that are found are tolerable and wouldn't have keep us from moving into this facilities.
Healani Richard a year agoMy husband and I recently moved back to the islands. Halewai’olu Senior Residences was one of several places that was referred to us by friends that were helping us in our search. Heather, was absolutely fantastic! She was incredibly professional, helpful, and took the time to walk us through the entire process. Her expertise and friendly demeanor made what could have been a stressful experience truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend working with Heather - she's a credit to her team!" We have been in our apartment approximately two weeks and couldn’t be happier. They have wonderful programs that we have benefited from and we love the views I would highly recommend them.
