This property is truly one of the most desirable places to rent. The community is well‑maintained, consistently clean, and provides a peaceful living environment. The neighbors are pleasant, respectful, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that makes daily living comfortable and enjoyable. In addition, the office staff is exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive. They handle inquiries and concerns with courtesy and efficiency, ensuring that residents feel supported and valued. Overall, it is a highly recommended residence for anyone seeking a well‑managed, clean, and community‑oriented place to call home.

I've been a resident since 2019 (there was a typo in my original review that I didn’t realize until re-reading it today) and have always appreciated the evolving neighborhood and convenient amenities at Halekauwila. The staff has seen some changes over the years, but the familiar faces in the office, especially during community events like COVID boosters and vision clinics, have always made me feel supported. However, my experience has taken a negative turn since the new property manager, Margaret “Maggie” Hattal, began a few months ago. Despite navigating hardships from 2019 through COVID, including job loss and financial difficulties, I always felt respected and supported by the Halekauwila staff—until now. Recently, I experienced an incident with Shanted Rivera, a staff member I’ve known for about a year and a half, which felt invasive and unprofessional. On January 31, 2025, I received a call from the front office about a $1 rent shortage at 3:24 PM. During this conversation, I was put on speakerphone without my consent while the new property manager, Maggie Hattal, entered the room. Maggie then interrupted our private conversation and reinforced the aggressive questioning by stating: “As a new leasing manager, it’s management’s job to make sure that anyone who is not on the lease is visiting, staying at your place, or in the building.” This was said in reference to my friend, who has been a regular visitor for years. This level of micromanagement and lack of respect for privacy is unsettling and has made me feel harassed and monitored in a place I once considered a safe haven. While staff changes are normal, the shift in management has unfortunately led to a significant decline in my sense of comfort and respect as a tenant. I hope the property management team takes concerns like mine seriously and works toward restoring the supportive environment that once made Halekauwila feel like home. Update review: I’ve been a resident since 2019 and do not plan on moving anytime soon. The location and neighborhood just keep getting better. Staff has changed a lot in the last couple years but the girls in the office have remained the same minus one. Maintenance was sparse the last two years, but they seem to have a great team now. The girls in the office always plan nice events for the community and have recently been doing additional events like COVID shots boosters and even vision. As someone who doesn’t have insurance its nice to have these programs available conveniently in the building and for free. I am very grateful to call Halekauwila home!

I’ve live here for the past year and during the pandemic they have been nothing but helpful. Both ladies in the office are super pleasant, I’ve never had an issue once. Anytime I have a problem then are there to help. The Bldg is always clean. I love the fact that if you don’t live here you can’t access any of the floor without a key. If I can rate 10 stars I would !

Love it here. The building is in a great location. Includes a parking stall and has a electric vechicle car share for our building only. Staff is always helpful and other residents are always friendly as well.
