The Annex markets itself as a “luxury apartment” community, but in practice, management and operations fall well short of that standard. One of the most concerning issues is the lack of consistent security presence after the leasing office closes. On multiple occasions, security staff have either been absent from the desk entirely or visibly disengaged from their responsibilities. This becomes even more concerning during move-ins, when loading doors are left open for extended periods, exposing the garage and building access points. As a result, unauthorized individuals have been observed wandering through the garage, checking vehicle door handles, and bikes have reportedly gone missing from the bike storage areas. Maintenance and infrastructure issues are also ongoing concerns. Persistent AC problems, pool leaks, roof leaks and operational issues throughout the property have become recurring frustrations rather than isolated incidents. Additionally, contractors entering units have, at times, moved residents’ belongings without prior consent and with little regard for personal property. When damages occur, management appears more focused on avoiding accountability than resolving the issue appropriately. The recently installed access system for doors, elevators, and garages has only added to resident frustration. Management does not appear adequately trained on the system themselves, leaving tenants to navigate frequent problems with little guidance or support. The removal of physical fobs also raises legitimate safety and accessibility concerns. If a resident’s phone is dead, stolen, or unavailable, there seems to be no reliable backup solution—particularly problematic given the inconsistent security presence. Another major drawback is the rigid parking policy. Residents are effectively prohibited from allowing temporary access to their own parking spaces for personal contractors or service providers, such as housekeepers, dog walkers, delivery personnel, assistants, and most importantly in home health care providers. For a property branding itself as luxury living, the lack of flexibility and accommodation is disappointing. Overall, management has developed a pattern of deflecting concerns rather than addressing them directly. Broken personal property, security concerns, and ongoing operational failures should not be treated as secondary issues in a building charging premium rates. If you are genuinely looking for a luxury living experience, I would strongly recommend exploring other options before committing to The Annex.

Security is never at the door. Expect long wait times to be let in. They also have an attitude when you are finally let in. Rent elsewhere! You won’t regret it

Myself and my wife along with some friends have been leasing apartments at the Annex for a couple years now. I’ll say this is one of the absolute best and safest locations we feel. With the 24/7 on-site security team they have it down and do a great job. The roof top pool is fabulous along with small gym access makes it easy to get it all in a days time if you allow. Gated parking garage and security makes it feel much more secure and comfortable. Do your due diligence and shop around visit and tour but I’m sure you want find a more secure apartment with great little amenities.

I wouldn’t suggest these apartments to anyone of color I am a caregiver that takes care of a woman in the building who has no arms or legs and the lady who is there in the morning is very rude and prejudice when i started working with the patient I was able to get in the doors they were open now she locks all the doors and I can’t get in and I have to call my patient with no arms and legs to come down to open the doors and this is with the other caregiver as well this is also discrimination against a disabled person she also raised the rent added water payments making her pay water and didn’t explain anything to my patient telling her her guest has to pay for parking or they can not park this is not fair and something needs to be done

We had a great application and move in experience at The Annex. Cilia was very prompt in responses, considerate of our timing and helpful with the entire process. We truly appreciate her going above and beyond at times. Great building overall.
