Shannon 6 months agoStayed here for 2 nights and nothing against our Air BnB host at all… however, this is anything but “luxury”. The whole building smells. The lobby immediately smells like human urine that just seems to follow you up the elevator. The trash chute was out of service and added a horrible smell the next morning. It is noisy, BUT you should expect that in the large city… that doesn’t bother me. Our studio apartment was clean, had a ok bed, washer/dryer, small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. The only complaints in the studio would be the flooring was unfinished, the shower door didn’t close all the way, and again the SMELL. If you’re gonna pay over $200 a night, I would recommend elsewhere. TAKE UP THE WHOLE FLOOR DOWNSTAIRS AND REPLACE IT. That’s a great place to start. I would take photos of the lobby, but it literally makes my stomach churn and I refuse to even stay long. Don’t know how security can stand it, and don’t understand how others barely have commented on it!
Tai Hartley 5 months agoI recently moved into a 1bd/1.5 ba at 925 Common. Initially I was a little hesitant if this was the right place for me as I wasn’t sure the place would meet my needs in regards to space and storage however I was wrong and absolutely in love with my apartment and the location. My biggest concern was that there was not a storage unit available however with the size of the apartment, very large walk-in closet, many cabinets in the bathroom and large in unit laundry area quickly put that challenge to an end. There are several other amenities that made this a great find. The location is central to everything. The building is located across the street from the French Quarter and there is a good variety of restaurants within walking distance as well a grocery store less than ½ a mile away. The property is well maintained and has on-site security however I have not encountered any disruptions. Since this is a controlled access building I have not experienced any problems with not receiving packages or deliveries stolen with the exception of the delivery services not delivering to the right location. The office staff was great to work with and made the application process a breeze. As with any property there will be flaws, the ones I have encountered are fairly minor and the staff has been very receptive to get them resolved immediately. I highly recommend exploring these apartments as the rent is competitive, and although I don’t use it, there is a parking structure adjacent to the building. The fees are very reasonable compared to other lots in the area and you can’t beat the location if you want to be downtown and close to entertainment.
Kris Lynch a year agoOverall, this place isn't too bad, just a few hiccups. Check-in: I booked through my credit card portal for this place, and they did not send me any information prior to arrival. We were not able to get into the lobby and we tagged through with someone with a code to the building and once in the lobby there is a sign about check-in and a place to store your luggage with business Rooster Club of New Orleans - Downtown next door. They were so much help with checkin and knew the number to call for help. I am grateful for Mary for helping us. If she wasn't there, I'm not sure it would be a smooth checkin. My credit card customer service was not helpful, and they sent information that was hard to read. If staying contact the people you booked the room with, so you know what you're doing before arrival. Room: Room was nice and big 2 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms and clean. The hot water took us by surprise. Only 2 people could take a hot shower, and then it was cold water and took over 2 hours to heat back up for the rest of the group. So once figured out, some took showers at night to accommodate. Noise: My goodness are these the must paper thin windows I've ever experienced. You will hear everything at night going through the streets. There was power washing that took place in the middle of the night on the streets. Loud drunk people you can hear like they are next to you. The cars speeded by and loud music in the streets, so keep this in mind. Parking: Parking not included, we used the 1010 common parking lot near by, and signed up online for in and out privileges. $27/day We stayed the Thursday after Fat Tuesday for 3 nights, and we liked being close to Bourbon Street.
Vanessa Mackenzie 3 years agoThe location of this property while staying in New Orleans is excellent. You can take the bus from the airport and it will drop you off two blocks from the apartment. Walking distance to French Quarter and Warehouse District. One block to transit to catch street car which costs $1.25 for one ride or $3 for the day. Day tickets can be bough on street car. Apartment was well equipped for cooking with starter kits for laundry and dishes, salt, pepper, coffee and coffee filters. Starbucks coffee is served on rooftop patio in the morning or in office on main floor. Small pool on rooftop good for kids. The area is a bit noisy from traffic (not nearly as noisy as the french quarter). If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Decent selection on TV, ac runs cold and there was a powder room, main bathroom, walk in closet, broom and ironing board. I would recommend this place for family or small groups looking to be close to everything. Staff are helpful and office an assist with printing off tickets of hardcopies are needed
Dana Giles 3 years agoMe and my wife stayed for one week and we're both glad we chose the Sonder! For the price, the Sonder is the best choice in the city! Our room had 1 & a half bathrooms, washer and dryer, kitchen with a stainless steel stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen also included a toasted and coffee maker along with pots to cook with plus silverware. The couch in the living room was very comfortable and also let out into an extra bed if needed. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, shoes and suitcases. The bed was very comfortable, not too hard or too soft. The only con I had was that the shower in the master bathroom, had a shower head that limited the stream of water. The other con was that the t.v only had local channels and not cable t.v. If you stay, make sure you bring a Roku, fire stick or some other streaming device. The rooftop was definitely a plus especially with the swimming pool. Me and my wife sat up there every night enjoying the nice breeze and views.
